Mike DeWine to have pro-gun primary challenger (despite Ohio Republican Party's best efforts)

By Chad D. Baus Just two weeks to the day after Ohio GOP chair Kevin DeWine worked to orchestrate an unopposed primary for his anti-gun cousin Mike by enticing pro-gun candidate Dave Yost to drop out of the race for Attorney General, the Dayton Daily News is reporting that Hardin County attorney Steve Christopher has announced that he will challenge DeWine.

NRA on anti-gunners' protest against Starbucks: "Maybe Brady Campaign Should Switch To Decaf"

The hand-wringers at the Brady Campaign must have figured out what the rest of us have known for quite some time. Having been rendered all but entirely irrelevant, at least for the time being, the group is resorting to weird publicity stunts, in a vain attempt to again be taken seriously by its former not-so-secret admirers in the national anti-gun news media. Last month, the group gave President...

Starbucks says "NO" to Brady Campaign no-gun policy

By Linda Walker The anti-gun Brady Campaign certainly put a shot of espresso into Starbucks sales this week when they called for the retailer to place a ban on handguns in their stores. Starbucks shot back with a double dolce of latte on upholding their pro-gun stance for the gun rights of law-abiding citizens. By Chad D. Baus Last week, news that Ohio Republican Party Chair Kevin DeWine successfully maneuvered a pro-gun candidate out of his party's primary race for attorney general, thus giving his anti-gun cousin Mike an unopposed run, rocked pro-gun voters across the Buckeye State. This week, apparently not wanting to be out-done, Democrats took their turn at shafting pro-gun voters in their party...

Republican councilwoman rethinking stance on guns in parks

By Chad D. Baus Yesterday, the Dayton Daily News published a story entitled "Law allowing guns in parks irks Beavercreek councilwoman," which addressed comments made by Beavercreek Councilwoman Phyllis Howard at a January 25 council meeting. In the story, Howard is quoted as saying she opposed efforts to change to an ordinance prohibiting guns in public parks to comply with a state law passed in...

Protest organizer at Ohio gun show admits necessary laws already in place

By Chad D. Baus Last October, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg released video taken by people he paid to attend gun shows in Ohio, Tennessee and Nevada. The anti-gun mayor, who has had several Ohio mayors quit his gun control front group, Mayors Against Illegal Guns (with many saying they were misled, and others saying they had never agreed to join the first place), claimed the heavily-edited...
